Hey guys! Sorry that this blog comes up at this late at night (11 P.M.) but I will talk about my 4th quarter progress at the moment. Well let me just say that my scripts were due on Wednesday and I turned it in on time so that is great. Secondly, my project is about a movie trailer about a boy who sucks at baseball and gets teased, but one night he prays to do better in baseball and the next day, he becomes so much better like he hits a home run and makes a diving catch. But, at the end, he has to face the boy who teases him. Will he defeat him or pressure out? But yeah, I plan to film soon and I know who is going to act (my brother) and I know exactly what to do when filming. That is it for this blog, and I shall tell you my progress of my project when I post my next project update! Bye!

Hey guys! Today, even with all the fun of STN, there were some moments that weren't all that great. But, I more enjoyed STN than didn't like it. So in this blog, I will say one best moment of STN trip and one worst moment of the STN trip in each paragraph, so sit back, because this might take a while.
The first best moment of the STN trip was going to all of the amusement parks that we went to. I liked this moment because we got to go on many cool rides at the parks and got to eat some very delicious and tasty food! I personally like the two Universal Studio parks because their rollercoasters and rides were a little bit more exciting than the Disney rides. Now one moment I didn't like was moving out of the house that we stayed at for the first week. I will have to say that I liked the house much better than the hotel, because I had my own room (with the exception of my dad) with my own bathroom. We also had a game room and enjoyed playing pool and air hockey. :( My second favorite moment of the trip was going to eat at all those restaurants that we don't have on Kauai. I enjoyed eating the trying food from Sonic, Olive Garden, and Wendys because they have really good food and I ate at those places before, but I wanted to eat there and try their food again. Now another moment I didn't like of STN was the long plane rides. Even though riding on a plane is exciting, riding on planes that go from 6-8 hours are not cool. The first couple hours feel great, because you have something to do but the last hours feel really slow and even though you could sleep, sleeping is boring but I liked when we arrived at the airport because you have a break from the plane. My last favorite moment of STN was being called for an award for a video at closing ceremony. It felt so good that the work that my group and I did paid off with an award. It felt like all of the fundraising paid off. Finally, the other moment of the STN that I didn't like is waking up at 3:00 A.M. in the morning at leaving Orlando for good. This is my least favorite moment because the two weeks felt like it went by so fast and I wished that I could have stayed up in Orlando for another week or two. In conclusion, these are my favorite and worst moments of the STN trip. But that is it for this blog, so I will see you at my next Heys guys. Today's topic is a little bit more serious than usual. I want to talk to you about bullying. Many kids around the world get bullied everyday, and are too afraid to stand up for themself. There is also more than one type of bullying if you didn't know, such as cyber bullying and physically bullying. Sometimes, a person could just be saying words to you that get to your head so you feel like your being bullied. Sometimes, people bully others for no reason and think they are cool just because they have control over someone else. But all it takes is one person to stand up to the bully and 90% of the time, they will stop. But in one video, bullying was taken way too far and resulted in the victim committing suicide. Consequences can be as serious as that. If you would like to see that video and teenagers reactions to that, go on YouTube and search teens react to Amanda Todd. (WARNING: May contain inappropriate language) But yeah, if you see someone get bullied, stick up for them. This is it for this blog and I will see you next week! 😎
Hey guys! I'm back for another blog and this weeks topic is the three most important lessons that you have learned over the awesome STN Convention Trip. I think the three most important lessons that I have learned is using teamwork, never give up, and be appreciative. So here is why I think that.
First is using teamwork. Although that me and my PSA team (Justice, Isabel, and Kaycee) have had quite a few STN practices, we had a good bond between each other as in working together and we didn't turn in a video late at those practices. But even though we had a lot of practice, we still had a bit of trouble at working together to produce our PSA. Like we all didn't approve and work together to choose an idea, or some of us went off topic. Although we had our struggles, we stayed our ground and pulled our video off, and we have got the honor of winning. Honorable mention. Secondly, never give up. I have been told this many times younger and I think that this is one of the most important lessons in life. Even when things are not going your way and the odds are not in your favor, never give up and you never know what is going to happen. For example, our broadcast video didn't look so well, I mean by 6, have of our videos weren't even done or some didn't start editing, and I thought we weren't going to finish our video, but. Our editors Ben and Leanna didn't give up and we finished and got second place. Lastly, be appreciative. This is one that I don't think a lot of people are going to mention, but is important. I want to thank the chaperones for dealing with all this craziness and driving us kids around even though you would get us lost sometimes. Also for going on roller coasters and coming on rides with us that you didn't expect to go on. But I had a wonderful trip and would be appreciative for the parents for fundraising for us to even get us on this trip. But yeah, those were the three most important lessons I have learned so see you at my next blog! 😎 Hey guys! Now that I am back from Orlando, I am back to my regular schedule of blogs. It will be two blogs a week as usual but this time something else is going to change. I will try to post each blog earlier than a Sunday of every week just so you guys can see my blogs earlier. I am kind of relieved that I only have just two blogs a week, but I still do miss the house and hotel room where I would lay in bed and do my blogs. Especially since the bed was comfortable. But I'm glad to be back and on my regular schedule. But yeah, this is wanted to tell you about the update on my blog page so I will see you next time! Bye!
Hey guys! This is my first blog coming back from Florida and to be honest, I still miss Orlando but I love to be here on Kauai. Anyways, this weeks blog topic is about advice that I have to share with you all reading this. But I'm not gonna stall so let me get started immediately.
The first piece of advice that I have for you is that hard work pays off. In life, you come to some hard obstacles that you have to face, but if you work hard at it, you can complete it. For example, I had to give up a lot of my time for fundraisers such as the Golf Tournament and the Breakfast but I had an AMAZING trip and all that fundraising totally paid off. Secondly, never give up. No matter what life has to throw at you, embrace it and just keep on going. Even when the odds are not in your favor, (Hunger Games Saying) just keep on going and you never know what will happen. Like I thought that my PSA that I did with my group was good, but wasn't good enough to place. But I won honorable mention along with my group and we didn't give up when we had troubles with our video. Lastly, follow your dreams. This is what I think is the most important piece of advice that I have for you. If what you dream of is what you wish to do, you have to commit to doing it and practice to get there. People might discourage you and say you will never make it, but don't be discouraged and listen to your heart. I mean, look at Jackie Robinson. The first Negro ball player to play in the MLB and everyone at first disliked him and told him to quit. Even with his struggles, he kept following his dream and now he is in the baseball Hall of Fame! So this is the advice that I have for you and I will see you at my next blog! Bye! Hey guys! Today was the last day that I got to do in Florida which is sort of a bummer, but I miss my house and my family. But today was a fun and great trip overall. So let me get started. We start the day by waking at about 6:30. We got ready quickly and had breakfast at Mr. M's room. We ate quickly, met in the lobby, and got into our vans to go to the Disney Magic Kingdom. We arrived at around 7:45 so we arrived pretty early. We had to catch a monorail to get to the real entrance of the park. When we got there, the security checked our bags, scanned our cards, and we were in. Mr. M told us we had to move around quickly so we could go on all the big rides so we took a bathroom break at the very beginning of the experience. We first went on Space Mountain which was really fun and then we went on a smaller roller coaster called the Big Thunder. That ride just had a lot of sharp turns. We had a fast pass for Splash Mountain, but not until 5 P.M. so we had to go on a lot of other rides. We went to watch a Stitches Escape, went on a Buzz Lightyear shooting ride which I scored 47,000 on but what was amazing is Ben Brady's mom got 901,000! We went on a Hot Rod course where we raced against t each other! We ate lunch late at about 3:00 and I had a turkey leg, Doritos, Frozen lemonade, Soft Serve Strawberry Lemonade, and a churro! What was also cool was that from 4:00 until the time that we were going to splash mountain, Mr. M let us shop so I went to get ice cream and looked around. Finally, it was time for Splash Mountain. Let me just say that was an awesome ride. I sat in the very front and I got drenched. But when the camera took the picture, we all made the tribute sign in "The Hunger Games" which was really cool and my dad bought the photo of that. We then left the park and ate at a place called Friendly's. I had a build your own Mac and cheese, Shirley temple, and a vol-cone-no-sundae. I had two scoops of cookies and cream and one scoop of birthday cake on that sundae. I also had whipped cream, hot fudge, rainbow sprinkles, and Oreo cookie crumbles as toppings on it. The food was delicious, but it took a while for the food to come so we came home late at about 11:00. I then took a shower, packed up all my stuff, and here I am now. But that's how my experience in Florida basically ended so I will see you tomorrow to tell you about my blog on going back to Kauai. Bye!
Hey guys! Today is the last day of STN but if I had to say so myself, the best day of STN. Some really awesome things happen and a bunch of other crazy stuff has also happened, so why wait, let's start.
So we woke up at 8:00 because Mr. M. Wanted us to catch up on our sleep. But I went through the basic morning routine. We then headed downstairs to go the closing ceremonies. Now to where all the cool things happen. The first contest winners that they announced were the Spot Feature, and our school came FIRST PLACE!! There were a lot of cheering and their member Brandon was owning the moment of winning! We were all so proud of that team and that was a really happy experience! Congratuations to the spot feature team!🙏🎉 Next, out of the competitions that were competing were the commercial and movie trailer team. Sadly, neither of them placed or took home and award. We are still very proud of them though! But next was the PSA winners, and that's when the pressure had started. My heart dropped and the first group that got an honorable mention was Casteic Middle School. But next, was CHIEFESS KAMAKAHELEI MIDDLE SCHOOL!!! 😀😀😀😀🎉🎉🎉🎉 They said our name wrong, but I wasn't about to let them ruin the moment. All of our hard work paid off! We were so happy gave a group hug, and got our award. My birthday wish had come true! After though, it even got better! Anchoring took home second place! Music video also took home second place! So proud of those two groups! But it all came up to the sweet 16 videos. First were the broadcast excellences and I was sensing that one of the announcers didn't like Hawaii because Waianae High school took home an award of excellence 5 times in a row and said it more boringly everyttime. But it was then the winner of the overall Broadcast videos. And guess what, we came second place overall! YEA!!! We did it and that will be a moment that I will never forget. Film team never did place but still proud because they put a very good effort in to it. That was basically all the exciting stuff at the Ceremony for our school, but we also went to eat at 5 guys after which is a delicious burger joint! We also went to Gatorland, watched and did a bunch of awesome stuff, ate at Panda Express, and came back to the hotel. Ben M. Ben B. Micah, Kaden, Saul, and I all decided to come back to the hotel. I took a shower first and here I am now. But that was the blog that ended the STN experience and I will see you at my next blog! Hey guys! Today has been a very special day for me. Can you guess why? Well... It is my birthday! This time of year has already came and hit me so quickly. So today, I tried to make it as best as I could. But this is also the day that I compete in my PSA so lemme tell you how I did.
So I woke this morning at about 7:30 and I already had to get ready and eat breakfast and be in the lobby by 8:30. So by the time I got ready, the spot feature had already started their briefing and the Movie Trailer at 9 so we were going to have our briefing at 10. But in the mean time, we had breakfast (Chocolate muffin and pop tart) and we were off to the to where we were to set up our "camp". But after we, set up, I went to half a breakout session, then we were off to our briefing. A guy explained the rules, and asked if we had any questions then he told us the topis. The Golden Rule. Yeah, remember that from our first STN practice? Anyway, we started by coming to our hotel room, making a script, then we immediately started filming. We did communicate, got off topic sometimes, but got filming done,. We then picked out music, ate some jelly beans, and went downstairs to edit. I will be honest, I don't know how editing went but everyone told me Happy Birthday, I went to two breakout sessions about On the Road broadcasts and one more thing that I can't remember. But when breakout sessions were over, I found out that both Spot Feature and Movie Trailer had finished so it was all up to us. I remember that me, Saul, and Ben M went up to the room and got ready for our penpal dinner. We ran down the stairs because we were late and Isa and Justice come running to me to tell us they finished. Best birthday present! After that, everything went pretty smooth. Well, almost... I had a great dinner with my pen pal, watched an ok STN spotlight. Then came back upstairs. Well, we checked to make sure all of our equipment. And my group just didn't agree with me!!! They said that we brought up Sennheisers 1 and didn't believe me when I said that we brought the right Sennheisers. So we made a big scene made out of it and even Mr. M. had to come. It turns out that it was the right Sennheisers but we had checked the bag poorly. Lesson learned and I learned that we need more trust in each other. But that's all I have so see you at my next blog! The day has finally come. The day that all the competitions actually started. Don't forget, we had a rough night last night and went to sleep at about 12:30 A.M. But the teams that were competing were Anchoring, Commercial, and Music Video. That means that me and my group ( Justice, Isabel, Kaycee) had a break. We still had to do stuff so lemme tell you what we did.
So my group woke up at about 7:20 and we were going to have breakfast at Mr. M room so that means that we had 40 minutes to eat. But, our group got ready in time, ate breakfast even though we didn't have a lot of time and met in the lobby at 8:30 A.M. They then held opening ceremonies which was really loud and very cool and then the groups went to work. Everyone started at about 12 but we had Breakout sessions from 1 to 2, 2:15 to 3:15, and 3;30 to 4:30. I went to a Hits, misses, and strangely fun by Les Rose, Editing, where it makes hard work invisible by Tim Werthheiser, and How to build a successful YouTube channel. All cool. But we also ate pizza upstairs after breakout sessions as well. Then our group went to our rooms, but we needed the security to unlock the door because we locked ourselves accidently but we went inside. We came back down and had a group bonding with other middle schools and with all the awkwardness, I won a $5 Starbucks card from a scavenger hunt. We then headed to STN spotlight to see award winning videos and see our groups did. They finished on time, but felt like they could do better. But we cheered them up since we are the CKTV Ohana and them we headed back to the hotel room. I showered and brushed my teeth and here I am now. But I will see you tomorrow at my blog! |
